Jessica Diane (Cheek) MacCormack

On April 12, 2021, Jessica Diane MacCormack, passed peacefully. Diane was born on April 18, 1942.  Her parents were Charles Cheek and Jesse Lee Adams Cheek and she was born and raised in Jonesville, NC. She graduated from the University of NC with a degree in mathematics and was recruited to work at the National Security Agency at Ft. Meade MD as a cryptologic mathmetician. It was there that she met her husband, Bill MacCormack and they were married in 1968. Later in life, she worked for Hallmark cards for several years. Diane was an avid reader and loved doing puzzles. She was also a self-taught genealogist and did extensive research on her own family history, as well as for other relatives and friends. In addition, she was a volunteer at the local Family History Center helping others with their research.

Diane's first priority was always Family. She loved family get togethers, family reunions, family vacations, and most recently she loved watching her grandchildren grow up. 

Diane leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Bill, her sons Bill (Sarah), David (Jennifer), grandchildren, Caelan, Leah, Liam, Eamon and Rhys, and many other close relatives and friends. She will be sorely missed. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11am in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to either the American Cancer Society or the Howard County Gilchrist Center.
