John Elwood Chism

Longtime Columbia resident John Elwood Chism passed away on September 12th at the age of 69. John was preceded in death by his mother Isabelle, his father Howard, his partner Jimmy Johnson and The Hippo. John was a fan of dirty jokes, the Baltimore Ravens, and a couple of drinks on a Thursday evening or a Sunday afternoon. He is survived by his sister Edna, his nephews Brandon and Ian, and the best friends a man could ever hope for.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held between 3 and 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 20th at the Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
