John Tarlton Ingalls, of Ellicott City, Maryland, died on February 6, 2026, at the age of 75. He was the son of the late Dr. George Sam Ingalls and Louise Larue Tarlton Ingalls of Baltimore. He graduated from Gilman School and Cornell University and worked in various capacities for the Maryland Department of Health. Following his retirement after thirty-nine years of service, he remained active in travel, the outdoors, volunteering, and sports.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne White; his devoted daughter Susanna Ingalls, and her husband, Saif Qazi; his grandson, Idris Ingalls Qazi; his stepdaughter, Lauren Robinson; her husband, Robert Robinson; and her sons, Matthew Davis and Bryce Robinson; his brother, George Sam Ingalls; his sister, Marguerite Ingalls-Jones; one niece; and four nephews. His first marriage ended in divorce.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at. Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City.
