Joseph Michael Davis, husband of Susan Ann Davis, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, May 26, 2024 in the hospice wing at the Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, MD.
He was the son of Stanley and Helen Davis of Lavalette, NJ, now deceased.
Joseph Davis graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Tom’s River, NJ with the class 1967; Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ with the class of 1971; and St. Mary’s University of Law in San Antonio, TX with the class of 1974. In addition, he also graduated from the U.S. Army Staff Judge Advocate School in Charlottesville, VA with the class of 1974. Upon graduating from the JAG school, he entered active duty in the U.S. Army in 1974.
He would later transfer to the Army Reserves in 1977, remaining active in that organization for 33 years. In addition, in 1978, he accepted a position at Harry Diamond Laboratories in Adelphi, MD, where he worked as a labor attorney. He would later work as a labor attorney for the U.S. Treasury, the Department of Defense Education Activity, and the National Labor Relations Board until his retirement in 2016.
As a member of the Army Reserve, he served active duty in Bosnia, where he operated as commander of a NATO task force (1999), and in Iraq (2003-2004).
He is survived by a son, Joseph Michael Davis II; a daughter, Jennifer Ann Davis; a son-in-law, Robert Louie; as well as two granddaughters, Alexandra Ann Louie and Katherine Susan Louie.
