Joseph Howard Richmond II, beloved and cherished husband of Bonnie, devoted and loving father and friend of Josh and Diana, passed away on March 1, 2026. Known affectionately as “Sho Dog” or “The Dawg.” Also survived by his sisters, Gail Leuhrs, Ann Hintenach (AL), Jean Mulligan (Bill), sister-in-law Betty Bockelman, brothers-in-laws Mark Bockelman (Ellen), Brian Bockelman and nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Baltimore and served 6 years in the Navy. He spent his career at NSA, working there for over 30 years. He cherished the many friends he made there, the neighborhood, and everywhere he went. His greatest love and joy was spending time with his family, whom he loved so deeply. They were everything to him. He was so proud of the veggies he grew in his garden and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. He rarely sat down, always finding something to be working on because that’s what he enjoyed.
His loss is irreplaceable, but Heaven has gained the best.
