"Josephine Perera passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026. She was born on November 3rd, 1930, to John and Poralenthina Perera in Sri Lanka.
From eleven children in her family, she is the ninth. She was married to her late husband, Peduru Wisidagame. They shared a beautiful life together for 48 years and raised three daughters, Annetricia, Malani, and Priyanthi. Following the marriages of her daughters, she gained three sons-in-law, Rohan, Pathirana, and Roshan. She was then blessed with five granddaughters, Yasara, Nishellie, Sisuri, Dilanka, and Selini.
She and her husband sacrificed their lives to ensure their children could have a better life with more opportunities. This allowed two of her daughters’ families to move to the United States and one to move to Australia. Following this, she also relocated to live with her daughters in the United States. Josephin lived a happy life surrounded by family, both in Sri Lanka and the United States.
She is loved by her family from all around the world. She will be remembered for being a devoted sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend.
She will be missed deeply by everyone who loves her. May her soul rest in peace."
