Jovito Facto Obituary

Jovito "Ray" Raynor Facto, a cherished family man and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the age of 86. Born on September 23, 1937, in Negros Occidental, Philippines, when he was 20 he joined the Navy and was stationed at Annapolis, MD  Ray brought joy and warmth to all who knew him throughout his remarkable life.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 64 years, Barbara J. Facto. Together, they created a family legacy filled with love and laughter, raising their sons Mark (Shelly) and Jeffrey (Denise) and the late Bruce Facto, whose lives he enriched with his wisdom and unwavering support. . Ray was a proud and doting grandfather to Michael R, and Patrick B.

Ray's passion for life was evident in his commitment to his family and the joy he found in simple pleasures. He had an infectious love for eating crabs, a delicacy he enjoyed at every opportunity, often surrounded by loved ones. His presence was a staple at his grandsons' sporting events and concerts, where he would cheer with pride and enthusiasm, celebrating their achievements and milestones.

Beyond his immediate family, Ray was a treasured brother and uncle, leaving behind a legacy of fond memories with his sisters, brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. His kindness, generosity, and spirited storytelling will be profoundly missed at family gatherings, where he was always the heart and soul of the festivities.

Ray's influence extended beyond his family circle, touching the lives of many in his community and the members at First Lutheran Church, in Ellicott City, MD, where he served as an usher and on the council.  He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
