Judith Helbing Obituary

Judith Louise Helbing was born October 10, 1940 to Lawrence and Isabelle Lauerman. Judy was the second of five children and is predeceased by her brothers Lawrence Jr., Michael, and Ray. She is survived by her younger brother David of Appleton, WI. We lost our best mother and Grammy October 7, 2024. She had 84 beautiful years on this earth. In her 21st year she married John (Jack) M. Hayes, Jr., with whom she had her 3 children: Diane, Pam, and John. In her 45th year, she married Charles (Charlie) R. Helbing, who brought two sons of his own: Bob and Tom.

Although the lack of opportunities in the late 50’s and early 60’s meant she was unable to attend college, her intelligence and motivation were evident as she raised her children and later entered the work force.

Judy was genuinely one of the kindest people and would sincerely do anything within her power for those around her. In her later years, she found comfort and security in her devotion to her God. Her life was independent, full, active, and extremely social until the very end. Her wishes were that if she was ever unable to live an active, independent life, then she had lived the life she wanted and was ready to move on to her life in heaven.

Judy is survived by her children Diane (Matt), Pam (James), John, Bob (Mora), and Tom, who are all the smartest children ever. She is also survived by her grandchildren Joe, Katy, Harvey, and Ryan and those grandchildren Mora brought through her marriage to Bob, who are the smartest and best-looking grandchildren ever. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Miles and Laoghaire, who are the smartest, best looking, and most adorable great-grandchildren ever. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie Helbing. Her marriage to Jack Hayes (deceased) ended in divorce.
