Kathleen "Kathy" Fitzpatrick Obituary

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Fitzpatrick (nee Moore), of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the age of 72, after a long courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Kathy was born in San Diego, California, and was the third of six children of Harold Doty Moore, a Naval Academy graduate, and Mary Patricia Fallon, a Junior High School math teacher.

Kathy graduated from Seton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Baltimore in 1973. She worked for the Department of Transportation, the Department of Defense and retired in 2020 from the National Security Agency after 19 years.

Her interests included golf, genealogy, and gardening. Kathy had a passion for historical research and genealogy. She traced her lineage to Edward Doty, a Mayflower passenger. She wrote two books on her ancestors and one book on the Fitzpatrick family. She also wrote books on the superintendents of Druid Hill Park and on closed golf courses in Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Howard County.

Survivors are brother, Daniel L. Moore, and sisters Susan (Ernie) Burkhalter, Sheila (Melvin) Malenski, Sharon F. Moore, and Mary Eileen Moore, and nieces and nephews Kyle, Julianna, Brian, Danielle, and Michael. In 1974, Kathy married Clarke J. Fitzpatrick, III, son of Clarke J.
