Kelle Brookhart Obituary

Kelle Diane Brookhart was born at Saint Agnes Hospital on June 19, 1968. Kelle grew up in Howard County Maryland. Although not Catholic, her mother wanted to send her to a Christian school, and her parents paid extra to enroll her at Church of the Resurrection School, which only went to the ninth grade. Kelle then attended Arlington Baptist School. Later, she attended Howard Community College.

As Kelle was growing up her mother wanted her to take piano lessons, but that wasn’t what Kelle wanted.

Kelle was good at swimming; in fact, she was good at diving off the diving board and doing somersaults. Later, she was on Girls Little League softball. In the winter she went ice skating every weekend, if not on frozen ponds, she was on the ice-skating rink in Columbia. She took a job as Assistant Secretary at A.P.L.

When Kelle was nineteen, she married.

Years later when Kelle was single again, she moved to Catonsville for eight years. Until her parents bought a small parcel of ground.

There was one cow named Evelyn and four miniature cows. Kelle was such a help with the cows and all the family dogs. Months later a friend had a fourteen month old pony that they didn’t have the room for, so they sold it to the family.

Kelle named the pony Joy. She loved Joy, always going to the gate every afternoon for twenty years to give her a snack of cut-up carrots and apples. She never forgot to feed the birds. Kelle found her place with all the animals. A dog named Sunny for nine years that slept with her, after Sunny there was Lucky. She loved all the dogs.

Three years ago, after her father passed away, Kelle made cooking a hobby. She would call her aunt Sallie to make sure she didn’t leave anything out.

Joy, the horse is still waiting at the gate every afternoon for her snack. Joy is now twenty-one years old.

An angel is taken from us that we loved so much.

Brothers Mark, David, Aunt Sallie, and Mother.
