Paul Kenneth Boettger, pre-deceased by Garnet his wife of 55 years, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday January 18th, 2023. He was a resident of Oakcrest Retirement Community since 2016 and prior was an Ellicott City resident since 1960.
He was the son of the late Otto Paul and Lillian Boettger of Baltimore City. He was pre-deceased by his 3 sisters Nadine Collinson, Kathleen Traub, and Charlotte Pfeifer.
Ken Boettger graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School in 1946. He joined the US Army and spent 2 years in Korea. When he returned home, he began attending the University of Maryland under the GI Bill. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He worked for the Westinghouse Corporation as an engineer for 40 years before retiring in 1991. He was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Church in Ellicott City Maryland and a founding member of the Church of the Resurrection. He was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus having joined as a young man.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Hebrank, and son-in-law, Michael Hebrank as well as a son, Thomas Boettger; grandchildren Kendall Hebrank, Alexander Hebrank, Oliver Boettger, and Melody Boettger.
The family will receive friends at the Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 4 – 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection – Chapel on Monday, January 23, 2023, beginning at 11am. Interment following at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
