Kevin Cavanaugh, husband of Terri Cavanaugh, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday morning, September 1, 2021, at home in Burtonsville, MD.
He was born on January 6, 1960, in Scranton, Pennsylvania to John and Catherine Cavanaugh and graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School (Laurel, MD) in 1978. In 1981, Kevin married his high school sweetheart Terri Renehan and had three children.
Kevin is survived by his brother John Cavanaugh; son Brian Cavanaugh; daughters Sarah Hendricks and Kelly Crabtree; daughter-in-law Megan Cavanaugh; sons-in-law Jason Hendricks and Wesley Crabtree; and grandchildren Jack, Logan, and Mia Cavanaugh; Hank, Lucy, and Hadley Hendricks; and Emmie Crabtree. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Catherine Cavanaugh, and brother Joseph Cavanaugh.
Kevin cherished time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. For the past 18 years, he worked for the University of Maryland where he embraced friendships with his colleagues and enjoyed following the University of Maryland sports teams.
A memorial service will be held for Kevin at 11 AM on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fulton, Maryland for friends and family. A mask will be required to attend the memorial service.
