Lawrence William DeGarmo

Lawrence (Larry) DeGarmo born January 2, 1952 in Washington DC to Billy DeGarmo and Catherine DeGarmo. Larry went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2020 while in the hospital with a brief illness. He was 68 years old. Larry was the kind of man who would take the shirt off his back to help someone else. Larry enjoyed time with his family and going to church every Sunday. After his mother and father passed away Larry lived with his step mother Ruth Virginia, then after her passing Larry came to live with Jane Beall, his aunt. He lived with Jane and her husband John Beall as well as Billy VanZandt, Mark Brady, his wife at the time Paula Brady and their children Hannah and Cody Brady. Larry has two brothers, Michael and late Dennis DeGarmo. 

If you met Larry he would ask you what your name is and when your birthday was, and he never forgot anyone’s birthday. He always made sure to meet the mail lady outside to get any mail instead of her leaving it in the box. He also loved books, records, and liked to draw. He had a big passion for trains and cars. Later in life, while Larry lived with Ms. Annie and his roommates at his group home, Larry loved to come visit his cousin Mark and Natalie Brady for family functions. He had a ball swimming in the pool with the kids.          

Larry is survived by his brother Michael, his cousins Billy and Nikki VanZandt, Mark, Hannah, Cody and Cheyenne Brady as well as their children: Mariah Allegra, Lily Edwards, Haven Edwards and Lili Blackwell. Larry is preceeded in death by his mother Catherine, father Bill, brother Dennis DeGarmo, step mother Ruth Virginia DeGarmo , aunt and uncle Jane and John Beall, and his cousin Kevin Brady. To know Larry was to love him, he will be missed by many.
