Obituary

Lee Steinwald Widhelm, wife of the late William B. “Gus” Widhelm, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning, April 23, 2022 at the Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant in Ellicott City, MD.  She was born on October 9, 1935, the daughter of Osmar Paul Steinwald, Sr. and Minnie Lee Suter Steinwald of Baltimore, MD, now deceased.  She is survived by her brother, Bruce Steinwald (Ronnie) of Washington D.C.  She was predeceased by her brother, Osmar P. Steinwald, Jr. (Nancy) of Lake Forest, IL.

Lee Widhelm graduated from Eastern High School, Baltimore, MD with the class of 1953 and graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA with the class of 1957, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.

Employed at Johns Hopkins University, Lee then moved to Ellicott City where she excelled as a mother and homemaker.  In the past, she was a long-time active member at Forest Hill Swim & Tennis Club, Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club, and many bridge groups.

She is survived by a son, William C. Widhelm (Mary Kay) of Deltaville, VA and grandsons, Parker and Burke.

A visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 9120 Frederick Rd, Ellicott City, MD 21042, where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to C2Adopt, 8100 Three Chopt Rd., Ste. 101, Richmond, VA 23229.
