Ligia Fernando Obituary

Maria Ligia Fernando was born on the 10th of June 1978 to Jesudasan Fernando and Maria Ambika Fernando in Palayamkottai a town in Tirunelveli. She has one younger sister, Linet and one younger brother, Leo.

She finished her education in Chennai, India.

Ligia got married to a wonderful man, Subas Raj, moved to Maryland and had her son Rohan Adrian Subas and her cute pet Bigil.

She worked as a Senior Program Manager in Oracle.

Academically she was the math genius. She helped all her friends with their math homework and every friend will recount how she selflessly helped them.

Ligia had the voice of an angel. People were in awe when she sang, an elegant and graceful dancer too. She drew well, painted well. She wrote lovely poems. She was a bundle of talent. She was the epitome of patience and the personification of strength and resilience.

This whirlwind never ceased to rest. She ran like a lightning and worked like a bee.

Anyone could turn to her for advice or support anytime and she willingly gave her shoulder to lean on.

Where Ligia was, there was fun, laughter,  happiness and joy. She spread love to everyone who knew her. She has etched a niche for herself in every person's heart whom she came across.

She was forever grateful to the Almighty for his doings. She was a God fearing person. She lived everyday to the fullest like there was no tomorrow. She was a loving mother, a caring wife, a wonderful daughter,  a sweet sister and a friend so dear.

God works in mysterious ways. And we never seem to have the answers to most of His deeds. After a long and winding battle with cancer, she breathed her last on the 9th of July, 2024.

Though this Earth has become poorer with her absence, Heaven has surely gained another angel, and truly an amazing one. She will be dearly missed.
