On January 16, 2025, Lillie M. Yoakum passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of late Chester C. Yoakum; devoted mother of Edward Yoakum (Beth) and Nancy Hill (Tom); dear sister-in-law of Cellie M. Bierly. Lillie is also survived by three grandchildren: John Yoakum, Teri Hottle (Jonathan), Brent Hill (Brenda), six great-grandchildren: Tori, Jenny, Courtney (Jarrett), Sara (Drew), Rileigh, Jeremy, one great-great-grandchild: Lorelei; and several dear nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her devoted Christian Faith and for how much she loved spending time with family and her fellow church members. Lillie was quite the talented cook and baker, especially known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed many hours in her beautiful vegetable garden and loved to share the bounty with others. In more recent years she enjoyed watching TV, reading and crossword puzzles.
The family will receive friends at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD on Tuesday, January 21st from 4-6pm with a service immediately following at 6pm. An internment will be held at Elkins Memorial Gardens in Elkins, WV on Friday, January 24th at 1:00pm.
