Lois Copenhaver DiLosa passed away peacefully on March 29, 2020 at the age of 92. She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of 59 years, Vincent DiLosa, and her three children, Vincent DiLosa (Rose), Carol Cordrey (Duane), and Susan Schneider (John) and six grandchildren – Andrew, Nicholas, Joseph, Adam, Elisabeth, and Braden.
She was born in West Palm Beach, Florida and her family relocated to the Maryland area after the Hurricane of Ockeechobee. She grew up in Bethesda and graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. There, she enjoyed playing basketball. She attended Catholic University of America and graduated with a degree in Speech and Drama. While attending Catholic University, she performed in a number of plays and worked in their speech therapy clinic. She later completed her Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
She met her beloved Vincent during this time and they were married in a snowstorm in January of 1961. They resided in Silver Spring, Maryland for many years. While raising her children, she worked as a speech pathologist at a former Montgomery County Association for special needs adults.
She loved the arts, movies, attending theater performances, reading and trips to the beach.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.
