Louis William Rosenthal II, 33, of Elkridge, Maryland passed away on October 26, 2024 after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer.
Louis was born on October 31, 1990 to Gary Paul and Kimberly Michelle Rosenthal in Washington, DC. After graduating from Long Reach High School in 2008 he pursued further education at Howard Community College.
Louis was devoted to his cat, a birthday gift from his roommate, and named him Beck after his favorite musician. Louis was an avid reader. He especially enjoyed the science fiction genre. He loved music and shared his father’s passion for collecting vinyl records. He was known to stand in line as long as overnight in order to obtain the limited release titles on Record Store Day.
From an early age, Louis loved Lego. In adulthood he built complex structures for pleasure and for therapy to combat neuropathy, a side effect of chemotherapy.
Louis loved movies, musical theatre, and live music which he frequently attended with his mom. He was well enough to attend some key concerts this year. As a guest of Power to the Patients Louis attended an exclusive concert at The Anthem to see the Foo Fighters and Beck with an orchestra at Wolf Trap.
He loved spending time with his friends and gaming. He streamed on Twitch and built up quite a following.
He is survived by his parents, Gary and Kim Rosenthal, paternal grandmother Rhoda Rosenthal, maternal grandmother Diana Long, Robert and Nancy Rosenthal, paternal uncle and aunt, maternal uncle Rob Dom and aunt Theresa Davis Dom and numerous beloved cousins and their children.
Louis was predeceased by his namesake paternal grandfather Louis W. Rosenthal, and maternal grandfather Robert I. Dom, Jr.
