Our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Mildred Carole Lee Heim, passed away on May 3, 2023 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her son Scott B. Heim and is survived by her husband Earl B. Heim, son Gregory Heim, daughter Noelle [George] Jackson, and granddaughters Emily and Lauren Jackson.
Carole was born in Baltimore, MD on July 15, 1937. The daughter of Clarence and Ruth Anderson, she enjoyed growing up in the city and graduated from Southern High School in 1955. Following graduation, she worked for Coppers Company in the ordering department. She met her future husband, Earl, on Scott Street as they were both walking home from the Coppers Company. Earl and Carole married on July 11, 1960 and moved to Ellicott City in the mid-1960s.
Carole worked as a secretary for the Federal Government, where she retired with over 20 years of service. One of her favorite experiences were her tours in Germany and England in the 1970s and 1980s, where she served as president of the women’s club and spent many weekends touring Europe with her family. She also worked in the registrar of the National Cryptological School. After retirement, she worked at First Presbyterian Church for several years.
Carole had many friends and was a well loved member of her community in Ellicott City, MD. She was a member of First Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed the beach, decorating the house for the holidays, and going to her grandkids musical concerts and sporting events.
