Marcia Goeller Obituary

Marcia Gay Goeller passed away on April 4, 2026, in Ellicott City, Maryland, at the age of 87. She was born on June 15, 1938, in Dunmor, Kentucky, to the late Pearl E. Ridner and the late Ellis Russell Audas. Marcia carried the warmth and strength of her Kentucky roots throughout her life, and she was known by all who knew her as a kind, funny, loving, and generous woman whose presence brightened every room she entered.

Marcia graduated from Kenwood High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and later attended secretarial school.  She went on to work at Glenn L. Martin, where she met the love of her life, Jack Goeller. Their meeting began a lifelong partnership built on devotion, companionship, and shared memories that would remain central to her story for the rest of her days.

Marcia was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family was the heart of everything she did. She is survived by her daughters Debbie Haught (Greg) and Tracey Trainum (Jon), as well as her grandchildren Justin Goeller, Colton Trainum, and Layla Trainum. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Goeller, and her daughter Kelly Goeller. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Susan K. Foltz and Russell Ann Maxwell.

Those who knew Marcia will remember her bubbly personality, her infectious smile, and her sharp sense of humor. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and at ease, and she brought joy into ordinary moments with her laughter and quick wit. She possessed a passion for flowers and found fulfillment in gardening, tending to her plants with the same care and patience she gave to her loved ones. She loved animals and found happiness in their companionship, just as she found delight in the simple pleasures of life. She especially enjoyed sweets and desserts, and she never missed an opportunity to celebrate milestones, large or small, with genuine enthusiasm and heartfelt joy.

Marcia lived a life marked by love, resilience, and devotion. She was the kind of person who made lasting impressions not through grand gestures, but through the everyday kindnesses that revealed the depth of her character. She was funny in a way that lifted spirits, loving in a way that made others feel valued, and generous in a way that reflected the fullness of her heart. Her family and friends will long remember her for the comfort she gave, the laughter she shared, and the warmth she brought into their lives.

Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who loved her, but her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared, the traditions she helped create, and the many lives she touched.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life in the coming months; service details will be announced when arrangements are complete  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor – Baltimore
