Margaret Jean Linstrom, known affectionately as Jean to her friends and family, passed away on August 30, 2025 in Columbia, MD at the age of 95. Born on May 23, 1930, in Port Perry Ontario, Canada, Jean lived a full and compassionate life marked by her dedication to helping others, and her faith.
Jean graduated from the Toronto General School of Nursing and worked as a visiting nurse, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness. She married her husband, Loren, in 1959 and moved to the northern Virginia. After having two sons, her family moved to a home in Greenbelt, Maryland where she lived for 59 years.
Jean was known for her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels. For over 45 years, she delivered meals to those in need. Jean was an avid gardener, cultivating not only plants but also friendships and a sense of beauty in her surroundings. She knitted and crocheted many beautiful afghans that were greatly appreciated by her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Loren Linstrom; son Lloyd (Andy) and his wife Linda; son Peter and his wife Delia; and daughter Betsy and her husband Chris. Jean took great joy in being a grandmother to Brian, Kevin, Delia, and Emilia Linstrom.
