With great sadness, we announce the death of Marguerite Nancy Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Nancy passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Boca Raton, FL.
Nancy was born on April 17, 1942 in Baltimore, MD where she attended St. Martin High School. She met her husband, William Carroll Jones at a teen club dance and they shared a beautiful life together since. They married on September 5, 1964 in Baltimore, MD. Nancy attended Bon Secours Nursing School and became a nurse in 1964, a profession she enjoyed until her retirement. She loved to take care of people, especially new mothers and their newborn children.
Bill and Nancy raised their children, Tom and Mike, in Columbia, MD in the Owen Brown Community. They shared their lives with several friends with whom they often traveled. They relocated to Panama City, FL in 1994 and eventually moved nearby to Panama Country Club in Lynn Haven, FL. Bill and Nancy relocated to Boca Raton, FL full time in 2018 to be near their sons and grandchildren.
Bill and Nancy loved to travel and visited several countries and U.S landmarks. Their favorite way to get away was cruising, which they often did with family or friends. For over a decade, they cruised annually with their children and grandchildren at Thanksgiving. Nancy was so devoted to her family and there is nothing she enjoyed more than being with them. Nancy was the matriarch of her family and a wonderful role model to all. She was a devout Catholic and shared her love and kindness with everyone she knew.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father James Warfield, Sr., mother Marguerite Warfield, brother James Warfield, Jr., and sister Doris Williams. Nancy leaves behind her husband of 56 years, William, son Thomas and wife Melissa, son Michael and wife Victoria, and her grandchildren Andrew and Caroline who were her pride and joy.
Nancy will be laid to rest at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home in Ellicott City and a mass will be held at St John’s the Evangelist Catholic Church, Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, in Columbia.
