Born in Jersey City, NJ in 1936, Allison was the only child of William C. and Anna Mae Scully. Allison graduated from Catholic University, majoring in math, where she met her husband, John, in her freshman year in college. Allison and John married upon her graduation in 1958 and moved to South Bend, Indiana where John was attending graduate school at Notre Dame.

After John completed his master’s degree in physics, the young family moved back to Maryland and settled in Howard County. Allison stayed at home to raise their seven children until all entered school full time and then began working in the Howard County School System. She taught math at Wilde Lake High School and after stepping down from classroom teaching worked as a Home and Hospital teacher for many years in the county.

Allison and John were heavily involved in local and state politics, their church and the community. They enjoyed worldwide travel and loved telling stories about their adventures once they returned home.
