Marjorie Irene Jurd

Marjorie Irene Jurd (nee Overton), beloved wife of the late Ivor Jurd, who she married in 1956, passed away on September 3, 2021. Marjorie was born in Southampton, England to Ethel and Samuel Edward Overton. Marjorie, the youngest of four children, was preceded in death by her sister Ivy and her brothers Teddy and Bernard.  A longtime resident of Columbia Maryland, Marjorie emigrated to the United States in 1967 after spending a decade living in Canada. She was a creative person who also enjoyed gardening and travel. Marjorie was the loving mother of Brett Jurd (Terrie) and Julie Anne Jurd-Sadler; cherished grandmother of Lauren Hawkes (Brandon), Lindsey Teranto (Andy), Lisa Massucci (Tom), Rachel, Matthew and Brooke Sadler; dear great grandmother of Brynley and Beckham Hawkes, Cameron, Jacob and Avery Massucci. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Harry H. Witzke’s Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City. Interment services to follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Marriottsville.
