Maude Marie (Keyes) Williams was born on October 05, 1940, in Montgomery County, Maryland, to James William Keyes and Katherine Elizabeth (Brown) Keyes. She departed this life on May 01, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, Maryland. She was the fifth oldest of nine children.

Maude grew up in Montgomery County and moved to Emory Grove community in her teens where she joined the Emory Grove United Methodist Church and served for many years as the President of the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday school until moving away from the community to Rockville, Maryland and later to Columbia, Maryland.

Maude was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System and attended George Washington Carver High School and Junior College in Rockville, MD. She was certified and licensed in GED, Nutrition and Food Services. Maude received a Computer Programming Certificate in 1980 from Control Data Institute and continued to take classes at Howard Community College in Communication in Columbia, Maryland. Maude received a Certificate for Boating Safety from the Coast Guard School in Maryland. She attended Princes Georges Community College where she learned to ride a Motorcycle at the age of sixty. Maude worked for the Montgomery County Public School system until retirement in 2002.

Maude married Richard Curtis Williams on June 12, 1982, at Emory Grove United Methodist Church in Gaithersburg, MD and moved to Columbia, MD. Maude and her husband went on many adventures (sailing, motorcycling, kayaking, RVing, and traveling) across all 50 States in the USA and Internationally where she met lifelong friends. She and Richard eventually settled in Ellicott City, Maryland 50+ community in 2012 after many years of travel in their recreational vehicle motorhome. Travel highlights included: Alaska, Northern Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden, London, Turkey, Paris.

Maude was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a great capacity to shower so much joy and love towards family and friends. She shared her love of crafts with everyone from making wedding flowers, seasonal wreaths, and jewelry. She was an avid reader and loved playing games on her iPad. Maude was very talented in the kitchen and many requests for special dishes from her family were fulfilled with love. She loved to host dinners around the holidays and for many years she hosted her family for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

Maude was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and James Keyes; first marriage, Harrison “Dusty” Harriday; four uncles: John (Anna) Brown, Robert (Helen) Keyes, Andrew Keyes, Patrick Keyes; three brothers: James “Buck” Leroy Keyes, Joseph Allen Keyes, Robert Louis Keyes; two brothers in-laws: Richard A. “Dicky” Frazier, Ruize Waters; one sister, Josephine Francis Keyes; two sisters in-laws: Hattie Keyes, Gwen Fidler; beloved son, Kevin Allen Harriday Sr.; and grandson in-law Derek Lancaster.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, and best friend Richard Curtis Williams; three sisters: Mildred A. Frazier, Katherine J. Waters, Barbara A. Jackson; one sister in-law: Zona Story; one brother: Gene A. Keyes; one brother in-law: Frank Jackson; three daughters: Rita V. Harriday, Sandra D. (Michael J.) Toalston, Katherine C. (Dewitt Jr.) Wood; one son: Charles (Candace) Harriday; one daughter in-law: Stephanie M. Harriday; and two stepdaughters: Donna (Patrick) Cook, Angela Williams. Grandchildren: Antoinette Lancaster, Lanika (Jacob) Nortah, Cassandra Frazier, Anthony (LaTresha) Frazier, Tiera (Terrell) Young, Schanita Harriday, Kevin Harriday Jr., Kristina (Noah) Estersohn, Dewitt Wood III, Myles Harriday, Eric Toalston, Maxwell Harriday; devoted God-grandson: Adrain McDaniel; and 16 great- grandchildren: Amahzha-Natay, Akira, Ajane, Samaiya, Daejell, Nicholas, Noah, Nolan, Malachi, Tashara, Tyson, Joseph, Breanna, Aryanna, Winry and Aubriella; a host of nieces and nephews, and devoted friends: Viola Myers, Glois Johnson, Rowaida Tabri; and extended family: Suzy, Darrell and Emily.
