Michael Alden Burns, 61, of Woodstock Maryland, passed away on April 11th after a long battle with lung disease.
Michael was born on August 26, 1961 to Margaret Anna and Herbert James Burns in Baltimore. After graduating from Mount St. Joseph High School in 1979, he went on to study pre-pharmacy at UMBC and pharmacy at the University Maryland School of Pharmacy. After graduation, he landed his first job as a pharmacist for Columbia Medical Plan, kicking off a 35 year career in Pharmacy.
His late spouse Laurie and him had 3 children, Zachary Alden, Kaitlin Olivia, and Anna James.
He participated in playing drums, traveling the world, and volunteering his time to his church St. Alphonsus with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his children and sisters, Suzan and daughter Maddie, and Dr. Pamela and husband Mark and two children Eliza and Graham.
Mike was predeceased by his father Herbert James Jr.
Services will be held at St. Alphonsus Church on April 27th, 2023 at 1pm, 10800 Old Court Rd, Woodstock, MD 21163 and a celebration of life will follow from 3-5pm. Please ask the family for the location.
