Monte Dale Malone

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monte Dale Malone, 63, of Ellicott City, who departed this life on February 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Monte was born on December 2, 1962 to James and Linda Malone in Knoxville, Iowa. He graduated from Augsburg American High School in Augsburg, Germany in June 1979. Monte went on to study Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland. 

After graduation, he had a distinguished 33 year career working for the Department of Defense. 

In 1982, he met Mary, and they wed in 1984, going on to have two children, Amanda Nicole in 1985 and Matthew Connor in 1989. 

Monte is survived by his loving wife, Mary; children, Amanda (Tyrone) and Matt; his cherished granddaughter Marleigh; his parents James and Linda; his brother James Malone III; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A memorial gathering and celebration of Monte’s life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 1-4 PM at Harry Witzke Funeral Home in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Monte will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends and fierce dedication to his country.
