Nancy Walworth Obituary

Nancy Walworth (1949 – March 8, 2025) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home next to the love of her life, her husband, Bobby Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Sara. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Nancy grew up primarily in New Jersey and attended college in Ohio. In 1971, she met and fell in love with Bobby Joe. They got engaged that same year, and were married in 1972. Nancy worked in bookkeeping, but her heart was always in volunteer work. After retiring from corporate life, she devoted even more time to making the world a better place. She gave her time generously to her church, Meals on Wheels, prayer shawl knitting, card making, and caring for others in any way she could.

Throughout her life, Nancy was passionate about traveling. From beach trips when her children were young to bigger adventures once they were grown, she never turned down an opportunity to explore. For years she and BJ fulfilled their lifelong dream of RV travel. She also loved cruising with friends, visiting other countries, and enjoying weekend getaways to lakes and beaches.

While most knew her as Nancy, to others she was Hammy or Mom. But her favorite title was Grammy. She was the brightest of lights, the life of the party, and a friend to so many. Her love for her friends was only surpassed by the love she had for her family.

The world has lost one of its sweetest souls. She was small but mighty, and she loved deeply. “One more hug” was her catchphrase. Nancy left behind many who loved her, but no one ever doubted the depth of her love in return.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church on April 6 at 3:00 p.m. with an informal gathering to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you practice a random act of kindness in Nancy's name.
