Oliver Paul Hand

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Oliver Hand on Monday, December 8th, 2025. Born in Manchester, England, in 1942, he and his family moved to Maryland in 1980 and found themselves warmly welcomed into their local community in Ellicott City. Oliver was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and uncle, and will be greatly missed by family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic.

His Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 3695 Rogers Ave, Ellicott City, MD 21043 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 20th and will be available live-streaming.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are welcomed to either: Episcopal Relief and Development or the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB)

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Howard County General Hospital and Gilchrist Hospice who cared for Oliver during the final weeks of his life.
