Pamela Jayne Winkelman-Etue passed away at the age of 76 on November 7, 2025, in Columbia, MD, after a long battle with vascular dementia.
She was born on February 7, 1949, in New London, Connecticut, to Virginia P. Sankow, of Lyme and Fred Frank Sankow, Sr.
Pamela received a Bachelor’s degree in History from Kent State University and a Master’s of Science degree in Instructional Technology from Towson State University. She spent her fulfilling career as a school librarian and media specialist, primarily at Lake Elkhorn Middle School in Columbia.
She is survived by husband Ronald D. Etue, her son Patrick C. Winkelman of New Zealand; son Jonathan R. Winkelman, his wife Summer L. Winkelman and grandchildren Oliver L. Winkelman and Hazel V. Winkelman of San Diego, CA; stepson David J. Etue, his wife Christine M. Etue, and sons Jason A. Etue, and Ryan M. Etue of Arlington, VA; brother Fred Frank Sankow, Jr., and his wife Elizabeth of Lyme, CT; her sisters Priscilla A. “Penny” Sisk of Westbrook, CT; and Joan S. Magnusson and her husband Kurt of Bremen, ME.
