Patricia Ann Hanlon

Patricia (Pat) Ann Hanlon, beloved mother, cherished sister and devoted friend, peacefully passed away on June 28, 2024 after a second and very brief battle with cancer.

She was born on January 1, 1939 in Washington, DC to Claude and Ella Mae Duvall. She attended Montgomery Blair HS (class of 1957) where she met the love of her life. She was married for 60 years when her husband, William Hanlon, passed away in 2020. She has been a resident of Howard County, Maryland for the past 46 years.

Pat is survived by her children Michael William Hanlon and Cynthia Ann Nicodemus (Michael); her loving grandchildren Brittany Patricia Nicodemus (Daniel), Tyler William Nicodemus (Katie), Joshua Anthony Nicodemus (Jacy), Kaitlyn Mae Hanlon and Michael William Hanlon Jr. In addition to her children, Pat leaves behind her brother Steven Craig Duvall (Nancy), her niece Kimberly Ann Thompson (Eric) and nephews Gary Steven Duvall (Gabrielle) and Matthew Craig Duvall (Kerry) who will carry forward her legacy of strength and compassion.

Pat was a lifelong crafter and enjoyed making many things over the course of her life. Her latest passion was quilting and she spent her last days making gifts for her loved ones.

A memorial service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on July 13th at Glen Mar United Methodist Church at 4701 New Cut Rd. Ellicott City, MD 21043. A brief visitation will be held from 10- 11am with a time to gather with family and the service will begin at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Glen Mar’s Relay for Life (Angels for a Cure) team in honor of Pat. She survived breast cancer in 2013 but unfortunately succumbed to adenocarcinoma only 3 weeks after her diagnosis. Donations can be mailed to Glen Mar UMC (4701 New Cut Rd. Ellicott City, MD 21043) and please put Angels for a Cure in the memo.
