Patricia Leepa Obituary

Patricia Auhl Leepa, 84, of Ellicott City passed away May 12th, 2021. She was born on May 17th, 1936 to Orval Charles Henry Harvey Auhl and Lucille Rosalee Huelker Auhl in Gallipolis, Ohio and raised alongside job sites in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. She obtained her Associates in Secretarial Science from Robert Morris.

Pat started as a secretary right out of school, working for Pittsburgh Plate Glass company.  After a three-month European vacation she returned to Pittsburgh and started as a secretary for an ad agency where she quickly took on double duty as a model and then started doing television commercials.

In 1958 she met the love of her life, Bob, and they were married on April 23rd, 1960. Their three sons came along in 1962, 1965, and 1970.

Bob and Pat moved to Baltimore in 1964 and while pursuing her accounting degree Pat continued in TV, working as a cohost on the Larry Angel Show on WJZ and performing as an extra in multiple episodes of the PBS show Consumer Survival Kit.  From 1975 to 1978 she worked for National Iranian Radio and Television as an English-speaking international news reporter and co-hosting educational programs.

Returning to the States in 1978 Pat started working in the child support division of the State’s Attorney’s office.  Several years later she started her own bookkeeping business and then Patty Cakes, her own cake decorating business.

Over the years Pat held offices and served on the Board of Directors of many organizations, including one for a new hospital for Howard County and the National Christian Choir.  Along with her husband she could be found rebuilding houses with Habitat for Humanity and volunteering for Hearing Loss of America.

Singing was a passion for Pat and she could always be found in the church choir wherever she lived.  She also delighted to spend eleven years singing with the National Christian Choir and many years with the Alleluias and several other Ladies Ensembles.

Pat was active in multiple Christian churches throughout the years and was a founding member of Covenant Fellowship meeting in Marriottsville. She regularly prayed for her family and was always thankful to the Lord for the blessings this life had brought her.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Floyd Leepa, and survived by her brother J. Richard Auhl of PA, her sons, Robert C. Leepa of York, PA, Douglas C. Leepa of Hollywood, MD, Christopher W. Leepa, of Clarksville, MD and her 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, Andrew, Michael, Gwenn, Daniel, Elaina, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Sarah.
