Patricia Ann Orlando

Patricia Ann Orlando, lovingly known as Patti, passed away on June 6, 2026 at the age of 80.

Patti was born on January 12, 1946 in New Britain, Connecticut. As the first of eight children, Patti nurtured and mothered all of her younger siblings. Patti leaves a legacy built around family, defined by unconditional love, strength and support, and selfless generosity and kindness.

Patti grew up in New Britain and attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where she met her future husband Bob Morris. After high school, she cherished her time working for her father in his steel fabricating business and fulfilling government contracts. At 21, Patti married Bob, and welcomed their first son, Michael, one year later. Three years later, their second son, Danny, was born to round out the family.

As the wife of a military officer, Patti enjoyed traveling the world, from Germany to Korea and throughout the U.S. In particular, her time in Korea was most memorable to her and she found it fascinating to learn the culture and traditions. Patti was also active in various groups of military wives throughout her travels, where she frequently organized and hosted dinner parties and events.

Throughout her life, Patti worked in the hospitality and advertising industries. She worked her way up from an administrative assistant into various sales roles, where she won several awards and was frequently recognized for her accomplishments. In addition, Patti also modeled for various military and civilian magazines, as well as served as the face of several campaigns.

Patti possessed a lifelong passion for beauty, style, and the arts, and had an impeccable sense of fashion. Her hair was always perfectly done, and her outfits were meticulously color-coordinated, right down to the accessories. An avid lover of art and culture, she relished visiting museums stateside and across the globe—including her treasured trips to the museums of Paris, where she stood face-to-face with the Mona Lisa. Her home was exquisitely decorated, filled with artwork collected from her world travels, a joyful collection of all things panda, and a sanctuary for her beloved dogs and cats over the years.

Patti and Bob remained lifelong friends after their marriage ended. Patti retired and settled in Ellicott City, Maryland, where her legacy of love continued through hosting family gatherings, babysitting her grandchildren, serving on her condo board, and spending time with friends. She also generously supported causes from indigenous U.S. children to disabled veterans to wildlife preservation. Patti moved to Charter Senior Living in Pikesville at the beginning of 2025, where she enjoyed making new friends and received tremendous compassionate care from the staff.

Family remained at the center of her life, as she kept in touch every day with her sisters and daughter-in-law, and looked forward to frequent visits with her grandchildren. She was profoundly grateful for the unwavering love and devotion she received from her surviving son, Danny. Patti will be remembered as a sweet, kind, and thoughtful woman, whose proudest accomplishment was being a mother and grandmother (Nona).

Patti is survived by her son, Danny Morris (Megan); her grandchildren, Brayden (Jessica), Nick (Sarah), Eddie, Anthony, Nate, Lilly; her daughter-in-law, Jeanine Lee; her ex-husband and lifelong friend, Bob Morris; her siblings, Judi Orlando (Greg), Susie Goodrich, Debra Orlando, Marcia Orlando, Mark Orlando; as well as many lifelong friends and extended family. Patti was preceded in death by her son, Michael Morris, and her sisters, Katie Orlando and Lia Orlando, whose memories she held close to her heart throughout her life. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth (Smizer) Orlando.

To honor Patti’s memory, the family will sponsor a memorial bench in her name at the waterfront in Columbia, MD, a location that held special memories with her family and from her time working at the Columbia Inn.
