Patricia Quinn Obituary

Patricia Jean Quinn of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on May 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, creativity, friendship, and devotion to family.

Born in DeKalb, Illinois, Pat was the daughter of Clifford and Jeanne Quinn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Margy.

A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Pat lived a life filled with curiosity, adventure, friendship, and above all, love for her family.

Pat was a gifted artist whose creativity remained constant throughout her life. In her later years, that creative spirit found a new expression through photography. Whether capturing the beauty of nature, the joy of family gatherings, or memorable moments from her travels, she possessed a keen eye for finding beauty in everyday life. Through her art and photography, she shared her unique perspective with those around her.

To know Pat was to know her love of horses. They were more than a hobby; they were a lifelong passion. She found freedom, peace, and happiness in the saddle and treasured the many adventures she experienced riding and owning horses. Some of her most favorite memories were created by watching and attending numerous horse races with family and friends.

Pat also possessed a remarkable gift for friendship. She was fiercely loyal, deeply caring, and always willing to help others. Through her volunteer work with the Salvation Army and through countless acts of kindness, she touched the lives of many people. Friends knew they could depend on her honesty, generosity, and unwavering support.

One of Pat's most endearing qualities was her sense of humor. She loved to laugh and had an extraordinary ability to find humor in everyday situations. Her laughter was contagious, and her ability to bring smiles to others made her a cherished friend and a welcome presence wherever she went.

While Pat’s interests and talents were many, nothing meant more to her than her family. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and the source of her greatest joy. She delighted in their milestones, treasured every moment spent with them, and filled their lives with love, encouragement, and laughter. Her love for them was boundless, and they were and will continue to be the greatest joy of her life.

Pat is lovingly remembered by her son, Gregory Spillman and his wife, Elizabeth Spillman, and their children, Zachary and Emily; and by her daughter, Katherine Spillman and her partner, Daniel Schafer, and their children, Sadie and Briar.

She is also survived by her siblings, Penny Barrows, Steve Quinn, Marcia Selva, Tom Quinn, and Mike Quinn; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

Pat's life was a testament to the power of kindness, creativity, friendship, and love. She taught those around her the importance of being loyal to friends, embracing new adventures, finding joy in simple moments, and cherishing family above all else. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Though her journey has come to an end, the memories she created live on in the hearts of those who loved her, in the photographs she captured, in the friendships she nurtured, and in the family she cherished so deeply.

A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a later date. Details will be announced by the family.

In honoring Pat, her family hopes those who knew her will remember her by sharing a laugh with a friend, lending a helping hand to someone in need, spending time with loved ones, or simply pausing to appreciate the beauty of an open sky.
