Phan Van Nguyen Obituary

Phan Van Nguyen, 84, of Baltimore, Maryland, entered eternal rest on January 7, 2026. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.

A devoted Catholic throughout his life, his faith was the foundation of who he was. He lived with steady devotion, attending Mass regularly and carrying his love for God into his home. Music was one of his expressions of faith. He loved photography and music and taught himself to play both the piano and accordion. After Sunday Mass, he would often sit at the piano and play the same hymns he had just heard, filling the house with familiarity, peace, and reverence.

He served in the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life marked by sacrifice and resilience. In 1992, he immigrated to the United States to begin a new life, driven by hope and a deep desire to create opportunities for himself and his family. His beloved wife preceded him in death many years ago in Vietnam, a loss he carried with him throughout the remainder of his life.

In his personal moments, he found joy in simple but meaningful pursuits. He was an avid gardener, especially proud of his squash harvest, which produced remarkably large vegetables in such abundance that he delighted in sharing them with others.

He was a loving father to six children and a proud grandfather to thirteen grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense joy and pride. His love was steady, his presence grounding, and his example enduring.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, perseverance, humility, and love. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife and resting in the peace he so deeply believed in.

May he rest in eternal peace.
