Philip Wienecke, Jr. Obituary

Philip M. Wienecke, Jr, 76, husband of Maureen Wienecke, passed away on Thursday morning, January 6, 2022 from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at their home in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Phil was born on May 19, 1945 in Baltimore and cared for by his grandmother Leona Windsor Michael and grandfather Luther Windsor, now deceased.

After graduating from Kenwood Senior High School with the class of 1963, he went on to study at Catonsville Community College.  Phil worked at Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore for several years before enlisting in the Army Reserves. In 1965, he met Maureen, and they wed in 1968. Phil later joined the medical equipment field at Ohio Medical moving up the ranks to service manager and then becoming a successful member of their sales team.

Anyone who knew Phil knew that he was a loving husband and father determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved.  He was passionate about nature and could often be found fishing and hunting when he wasn't at home.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra D. Walker, and son-in-law, Jacob A. Walker, daughter, Jennifer L. Wienecke, as well as a son, Jonathan L. Wienecke, and daughter-in-law, Tricia L. Wienecke; grandchildren Jacob A. Walker, Jr, Amelia E. Walker, Holden H. Walker, Desmond P. Wienecke, Roman S. Wienecke, and Elizabeth L. Wienecke.

The family will receive friends on January 12, 2022, from 2 - 4pm at the Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home, Ellicott City, where a Memorial Service will begin at 4pm.
