He graduated From Catonsville High School with the class of 1945. He then began an 8 year military career with the Merchant Marines and ending with the United States Navy. Upon retiring he enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his family, the Dundalk Crew and the Catonsville Boys. He and Dawn also enjoyed entertaining and spending winters in Naples, FL with their many friends. He and Dawn loved dancing and listening to music especially Frank Sinatra and Jazz.
