Robert “Bob” Bruce Best, 74, of Columbia, MD, passed away on January 25, 2022.
He was born on September 17, 1947 to Ellwood and Lillian Best, in McCook, Nebraska.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1969, with a degree in Economics. He played football during his time there and was a “Blackshirt” for the Cornhuskers.
Bob retired from Federal Service at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2008, where he was the Deputy Director of the Office of Acquisitions Logistics Management (OALM).
Bob enjoyed gardening, fishing with his boys and time spent with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Helen “Tish” Best, sons, Brian T Best (Lisa Thompsen) and Alec H Best (Kori),his grandchildren, Clark J Best and Remi S Best, his sisters Deb Brandt and Jill Royce, and his brotherScott Best.
