Robert Driggers Obituary

Robert "Bob" Driggers, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Columbia, MD, at the age of 86. Born on August 30, 1939, in Washington, DC, to Eula Mae Sparrow and Everett Jackson Driggers, both of whom predeceased him, Bob was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of all who knew him.

Bob's journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and his community. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Driggers, his brother Jack, his sisters Susie, Joyce, Alice, and predeceased by his brother Tommy. His proud legacy continues through his children Debbie Lyons, Teresa Spencer, Elizabeth Cieplak, Lindsay Velte, and son Bobby Driggers Jr. His grandchildren, Erica Airing, Brandon Lyons, Saralyn Cruikshank, Gordon Lyons, Christian Yingling, Quincey Yingling, Willow Yingling, Jesse Spencer, Halo Spencer, Matthew Cieplak, Avery Velte, Christopher Cieplak, Anna Cieplak, and Beckett Velte, along with seven great-grandchildren, will carry forward his spirit of generosity and wisdom.

Bob served his country with honor as an Army veteran before embarking on a successful entrepreneurial journey. In 1972, he founded BoPat Electric, an electrical contracting company, which thrived under his leadership, mirroring his strong work ethic and integrity. His professional achievements were paralleled by his active involvement in various associations, where he was respected for his friendly demeanor and sage advice.

An avid sports fan, Bob's passion for the Ravens, Orioles, and Maryland Terrapins was only matched by his love for playing golf. He was often found on the greens, perfecting his swing, or cheering on his favorite teams with the same enthusiasm he brought to every aspect of his life. Winter months would find him skillfully navigating ski slopes, while his culinary talents shone year-round as he delighted family and friends with his cooking.

Bob's generous spirit extended beyond his personal interests. He was the kind of man who would lend a helping hand without a second thought, and his wise counsel was sought by many. His friendly nature made him a beloved figure in his community, and his absence will leave a void in the fabric of so many lives.
As we bid farewell to Robert Driggers, we celebrate a life richly lived and full of love. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. Bob's memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Bob.
