Robert J. Oryl

Robert J. Oryl, of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022. 

Bob was born on June 28, 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert S. Oryl and Rose Dominski. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie Cains and Leslie Kiffer. 

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lois Oryl. They enjoyed a beautiful relationship, traveling the world and wintering in Florida for many years. He is also survived by his children, Robert Oryl (Cheryl) and Michelle Wickersham (John), Joseph Oryl (Rebecca) and his stepchildren, Frank Sheeder (Nancy) and Jennifer Hurley (Dave). He was immensely proud of his 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

Bob served in the United States Army in Newfoundland, and worked at Allied Signal, ADP, and Jefferson Bank. He also had fun running a family delicatessen in Philadelphia with Lois. 

Bob had a good heart and gentle spirit, and he always had a kind and affirming word. He could build or fix anything, and was always involved in a project. He loved photography, watching sports, crafts, and spending time with family.
 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation. Interment is private at a later date.
