Robert Stewart Obituary

Robert Alden Stewart died on Monday, September 29, 2020 at Brooke Grove Rehab and Nursing Home in Olney, MD.

He was the son of Alden Dwight Stewart and Lucile Gladys Waite, twin brother of Jean Eleanor Stewart, now deceased.

Bob graduated from Bladensburg High School with the class of 1958 and attended the University of Maryland. Employed as a photographic engineer in 1960 at the US Army Map Service/Department of Defense, and was proud to contribute to the development of the Tomahawk Cruise Missile Guidance System. He retired in 1994.

Bob was a baseball enthusiast and watched the Nats and Orioles every game. He was a talented country/western dancer with Hooked on Country in Rockville, MD and also conducted dance lessons. Bob processed firewood for over 50 years and was passionate about his Stihl chainsaws and New Holland tractor. He was a man of nature and loved animals, having dogs his entire life. He loved to travel and named his favorite dog Coconino in honor of a site in Arizona.

Bob is survived by his sweetheart of over 30 years, Carole Mccann, and his sons Alan, Robert, and Martin and his daughters Susie, Lacey, and Cindy and three fabulous grandchildren, Lexi, Aly and Ryan.
