Sharon Cosgray Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Sharon Kane Cosgray, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Sharon departed from this world on February 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Sharon's life was marked by her unwavering optimism, loving nature, and endless generosity. She was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Sharon earned a PhD in Psychology from the University of Maryland, a testament to her dedication and passion for helping others. As a school psychologist in Baltimore and Howard Counties, Sharon devoted her career to supporting the emotional and educational well-being of children.

Sharon's life was full of joy and purpose, which was most evident in her role as the best Nana ever. She cherished every moment spent with her grandbabies Emma, Grace, and Nolan, who brought immense happiness into her life. Her daughters, Erin (Dave) and Rachel (Matt), were the center of her universe, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, generosity, and love that she embodied.

Her husband, Gehrig, was her steadfast partner in life's journey and she was his rock. They lived every part of life together for over forty years. Morning coffee and weekly trips to Costco. Traveling to spend time with friends and see more of the world. Caring for and spoiling their grandbabies every Friday and any opportunity in between.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her sisters Susan (Mick) and Karen (Phil), and her brother-in-law Frank, all of whom will miss her deeply. Sharon's presence was a gift, and her absence will be felt profoundly by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.

Sharon's love for the festive season saw her home transformed each Christmas into a winter wonderland. Her flair for decorating brought joy to all who visited, including her beloved Book and Dinner Clubs.

Sharon's legacy is one of love, optimism, and thoughtfulness. She approached life with a heart full of love and a spirit that never waned, even in the face of challenges. Her ability to see the good in people and situations was a hallmark of her character, and it is this quality that will be remembered most by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
