Steven Bassler Obituary

Steven Raymond Bassler, known as Steve to his friends and family, passed away on the 30th of May, 2023, in his hometown of Columbia, MD. Born on the 24th of August, 2007, Steve was a spirited, funny, and friendly young man who left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Steve was the beloved son of Lori Vallerani and the late Raymond Bassler. He is survived by his half-sister, Sylvia Uhl; grandmother, Joanna Vallerani; grandfather, Nicholas Vallerani; uncle, Keith Vallerani; and aunt, Regina Vallerani, and his brother, the late Michael Bassler.   Steve's family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished the time spent with them, creating countless memories full of laughter and love.

At the time of his passing, Steve was a sophomore at Howard High School. He didn't love school work and home work, but he loved being with his friends.

A talented athlete, Steve enjoyed playing basketball and worked tirelessly to perfect his three-pointer. If he was at home, he played basketball with them on his PS5.

Steve's outgoing and friendly personality made him a cherished friend to many. He had a unique ability to make others feel welcome and valued, and his sense of humor brought laughter to any gathering. His friends remember him as a loyal and supportive companion who could always be counted on for a kind word or a helping hand.

In his short life, Steve touched the hearts of all who knew him. As we mourn the loss of Steve, we also celebrate the joy he brought to our lives.
