He graduated from Medical School in Ankara, Turkey in 1953 and practiced medicine for the next 54 years. After 2 years of service as a medical doctor in the Turkish military, he immigrated to the United States in 1955. He did an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Steubenville, Ohio, followed by residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 1960, Dr. Ozgun left the United States to continue his training in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. There he met and married Lorna Joan McAleenan of Digdeguash, New Brunswick. Dr. Ozgun joined the staff of Springfield Hospital, where he worked for 31 years and served as the Director of Somatic Services for 19 years. He retired from Springfield in 1996 and continued to practice medicine on a part time basis until 2007.

Suha was very proud of his Turkish heritage but loved the U.S. and became a citizen on the deck of the USS Constellation in 1976. He also remained very fond of Canada and spent most of his summer vacations in New Brunswick. He had a small cabin there and loved to spend the day fishing or picking berries. He enjoyed spending time with family, his Turkish friends and his good friends Ernie and Miriam Cumerma. He enjoyed woodworking, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, and animals of all kinds, especially his dogs. He loved to dress up and go dancing with Lorna.

Suha was preceded in death by his father Saffet, mother Nemide, sister Gunselli El-Beshir, brother-in-law Abdul El-Beshir, uncle Nejat Madanoglu, aunt Nedime Madanoglu and cousin Toygun Madanoglu.
