She began her postsecondary education at Salisbury University. While there, she was stricken with Hodgkin’s disease. After successful treatment, she transferred to Towson University and graduated with a BA in education. She was a Human Resources Specialist at the National Library of Medicine, NIH, when she retired in 2012.
Susan and John (Jack) Burns were married in Baltimore, MD, and celebrated their 22nd anniversary earlier this year. They resided in Columbia, MD, and enjoyed a summer home in Ocean City, MD.
Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed numerous hobbies including golf, bowling, yoga, traveling, sewing, cooking, watercolor, puzzles, bridge and all varieties of board games. In fact, her greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends playing games.
