Theodora Mosesso Obituary

Theodora “Teddy” Mosesso passed away peacefully to her reward in Heaven at age 94 on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at her residence in the Vantage House Retirement Community in Columbia, Maryland. She lived a long, productive, happy life and was a special person to everyone fortunate to have known her, whether family, friends, or acquaintances.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 16, 1924, Teddy moved to Washington, D.C. at age 18 and went to work as a clerk typist with the Civil Aeronautics Administration in 1943 during World War II. She advanced to the position of executive secretary in the Air Traffic Control Division, which required a top secret clearance. After WWII, Teddy was assigned as an administrative assistant in the Flight Inspection Division of the Federal Aeronautics Administration responsible for developing aircraft emergency procedures.

Teddy is survived by her brother Victor, and sister Felicetta, brother-in-law Tom Ryan, and sister-in-law Mary Kay Mosesso. She is pre-deceased by her mother Clotilda Mosesso, her father and step-mother Americo and Michelina Mosesso, brothers John, Joseph and Americo, and sister Clotilda. She is also survived by her beloved god-children Diane Stahl, Michael Ryan, and Maria Bartrum, as well as several generations of nieces and nephews.

Teddy was active in her community, and served in a number of capacities on the board of directors at the Town Square Tower Condominium, her longtime residence in Washington, D.C. She loved attending family events, especially wedding, birthday, and holiday celebrations.

Upon retirement in 1980 after 37 years with the federal government, Teddy enjoyed traveling with friends, including a grand tour of countries in Asia. She also looked forward to summer vacations in Bethany Beach, Delaware with family and friends.

Known lovingly and respectfully as “Aunt Teddy,” she will remain alive in the hearts of and conversations of everyone she touched over her long, spirit-filled time on earth.
