Wanda June Knott passed away peacefully due to natural causes on February 21, 2025, at the awesome age of 97 in Ellicott City, Maryland.
She was born on June 4, 1927, in Bristow, Oklahoma, but spent most of her early years growing up in Columbus Ohio. During WW2 Wanda was trained and served as an RN in the Army Cadet Corps. While she was in training, she met and married Earle, her husband of 69 years. Wanda was dedicated in her service, always ready with a hot meal and amazing dessert to so many who were fortunate to receive her hospitality. Friends and family would concur, she was definitely a "hostess extraordinaire".
Wanda was the beloved wife of the late Earle N. Knott, and devoted mother to her three daughters, Laura Grimes (William), Denise Knott (Beth), and Penny Keune (Tosh). She was a very supportive cheerleader and and loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Patrick Grimes (Vera), Nicholas Keune (Kelly), and Nash Keune. She was also a much loved great-grandmother to her four great- grandchildren, Fina Grimes, Damon Grimes, Caleb Keune, and Micah Keune.
Wanda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church, for over 50 years, where she shared her musical talents in the church choir and was an active member of the Primetimers group. She enjoyed travel, nights with friends playing cards, was a devoted member of her Sunday School class, and ardent supporter of all of her family members and their various activities! Wanda was much loved!
