William Bittner graduated from Baltimore City College in 1952 and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served his active duty along with 32 years in the Naval Reserves.

After finding himself laid off as a machinist from the Continental Can Company in Baltimore, he transitioned to a sales position with Metropolitan Life Insurance. Soon after, he started his career in residential real estate in Howard County MD, a career which spanned over 40 years in the industry. He was the embodiment of strength, positivity, and perseverance. He faced life with a can-do attitude and an unshakable belief that hard work, kindness, and integrity could carry you through anything. No matter the circumstances, he found reasons to smile, to push forward, and to lift those around him. His optimism was contagious, and his work ethic inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
