Bill left this world to fly with the angels on April 3, 2026. Born to William and Mabel Logue, Bill was a man of intellect, craftsmanship, and deep devotion to his family.
Following a youthful, adventurous stint with his buddy after dropping out of high school, Bill joined the US Air Force as a draftsman. He spent time in Thule, Greenland—a period he fondly recounted through stories to his daughter-in-law, Cyndi. Demonstrating his dedication to education later in life, he returned to school to earn his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
Bill’s life was defined by his service and his passions. He spent a distinguished career as a mathematician for the NSA. When he wasn’t solving complex problems, he was a dedicated Scoutmaster and Indian Guild leader. An avid woodworker and RC plane enthusiast, Bill spent countless hours in his shop crafting everything from cedar strip canoes and Appalachian dulcimers to trying to perfect the art of turning logs into cups. Though he was a man of science, his heart belonged to Ireland. He visited his ancestral home many times, always ready to share the spirited tale of how his family was once banished from its shores.
For 62 years, he was the beloved husband of Charlotte (nee Donaldson). He was a guiding light as a father to James and Daniel, and a dear father-in-law to Cyndi and Lisa. His legacy continues through his grandsons, Carl, Josh, and Eric, and his great-grandson Solaris.
May your wings take you soaring, Dad. Fly high.
