William McCloskey "Bill" was born on February 22, 1952, in Baltimore, to Kenneth and Rosemarie McCloskey. He passed away on May 31, 2022, from brain cancer. Bill attended Catholic schools through primary and secondary levels and later played football at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College). He was a lover of all sports and always happy to discuss the Ravens, the O's and Maryland teams in addition to others. Most of all, Bill loved his family: his wife Katy DeHart, his children Kelly Markland, Molly McCloskey and Colin McCloskey, and his seven grandchildren.
Bill worked in many sales roles at Motorola Solutions over his 44 year tenure, ending in channel sales. He enjoyed friendships with many dealers and colleagues over the years. He was the consummate professional and took his responsibilities, but never himself, seriously.
Following a year and a half of treatment for glioblastoma Bill passed away quietly at home and was cremated at his request. His family is most appreciative of the compassionate care he received from Johns Hopkins surgeons, oncologists and nurses and later from Gilchrist Hospice. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of William McCloskey may be directed to support the Brain Cancer Program at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center. Please make checks payable to Johns Hopkins University. Gifts may be mailed with a memo indicating that this gift is in memory of William McCloskey to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, 750 E.
